OPTIMISE

WORKFLOWS, SPACES AND SYSTEMS

Workflows

Doing the right tasks, in the right order. It sounds simple but over time, the way we do things tends to evolve to meet changing needs. All too often broadcasters end up with complexity that isn’t needed, and a fresh approach can simplify things without sacrificing quality or putting too great a burden on any individual.

Spaces

I have designed and delivered many studios, from rock  and pop studios to drama studios, see the panel on the right for more details. I can help you avoid expensive mistakes if you involve me early enough in the design process, and help you select the specialists you will need.

Systems

Contact me if you are thinking about investing in a new playout system or other broadcast-related technologies, I can help you make the right choice for your needs. Selecting the right systems integrator is crucial and I can provide independent advice to help you decide.

DOING THE RIGHT THING, IN THE RIGHT WAY.

Optimisation is achieved when systems, spaces and workflows combine to enable people to do the best job they can in the most efficient way. Whilst there are many specialists in each of these areas, my expertise lies in bringing these different specialists together in an effective way.

If you wish to simplify workflows, train your staff, review your support processes  or redesign your technical areas to make them more flexible and efficient, please contact me. If you involve me early in the design process, I can help you avoid mistakes which are costly to resolve at a later date. I have experience installing studios in lightweight buildings next to railways lines, setting up an archive transfer operation at a transmitter site and building a classical studios next to large air conditioning chillers - would you believe the rotating magnetic field from the motors is potentially the biggest problem in the last example, not the vibration? Ideally, contact me before you place the contract, but if you want to involve me after the problem has surfaced I can still help.
